Jeff Montrose is the author of the book ›In der Wüste des Wahnsinns‹ (In the Desert of Madness). His essays have appeared in, among others, the Journal of Military Ethics and the Neue Zürcher Zeitung, Likewise, his short stories have been published in journals such as The Chattahoocee Review and TITEL cultural magazines.
He served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division as well as in the famed 26th Infantry Regiment ‘Blue Spaders,’ where he fought as a platoon leader in the Iraq War. He studied at the School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Georgia, Athens and Peace and Security Policy at the University of Hamburg.
Today, the former officer teaches U.S. foreign and security policy at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, where he also works as a lecturer in Business English at the Ingolstadt School of Management. Likewise, he is a regular guest lecturer on US foreign policy at the University of Hamburg.
Jeff is a long-time member of the German Council on Foreign Relations, the Atlantic Academy, the German War Graves Commission, and the German Paratroopers Association.
He lives in Bavaria, Germany with his wife and three children.
